Mexico's beach wars: This week Krishnan Guru-Murthy is in Mexico to see how the whole tourist industry is at risk of being destroyed. The drug wars are well known and generally kept away from the beach resorts, but right now there is a new threat, even in places like Cancun. The crew normally go and look for the story, but this time it came to them. Be warned there are scenes of gang violence you may find disturbing. A day trip to Chichen Itza, one of the world’s Seven Modern Wonders, is another must. Wander through its ancient streets and take in the temples, an observatory, and even a sporting arena. At sunset...

Travel video about destination Mexico. Mexico, land of the Maya and Aztec, temples and beaches and with a population of twenty-six million the bubbling metropolis of Mexico City is a maze of streets, flat roofs, skyscrapers and parks. Earthquakes, floods and civil wars created this ‘City Of The Aztecs’. Templo Mayor, the main temple of the Aztecs, lies in the centre of the city, in the large main square, Zocalo. The magnificent Catedral Metropolitana with its massive dimensions and fine stone masonry dominates the square, with equal prominence being given to the Palacinio Nacional, governmental seat of the Mexican President. In 1519, when the Spanish conquerors reached Tenochtitlan, capital of the Aztec kingdom, they discovered a lagoon paradise with floating gardens, Xochimilco, a labyrin...

In this video about My Day in Acapulco Mexico, you will not see cliff divers or any of the resort beaches. I guess you can call this video, the untourist tour. So if you are looking for information about the normal things to see and do in Acapulco, then skip this video. It has none of that. If however, you like wandering local markets, eating where the locals eat, and discovering hidden Diego Rivera art, .... then this video is for you. My friends, Ethel and Connie have been coming to Acapulco for over 30 years. In this video, they were my "tour guides" to visit some of the places they have found over those many years. Also, you can hear some interesting and funny stories they have about their past experiences in Acapulco. I hope you enjoy this video. If you do, please give it a "Th...

Recorded December 9, 2010 The video begins as I sail into Acapulco's harbor on the Island Princess. My first activity was taking a coastal cruise around Acapulco. During the cruise I watched the La Quebrada Cliff Divers. After the coastal cruise I walked through the Zócalo, Acapulco's town square. Next up was Fort of San Diego, the most relevant historic monument in Acapulco. After leaving the fort I took a nice long walk along the beach. It was then time to sail away.
